Ultra-Wide Spectral Bandwidth and Enhanced Absorption in a Metallic Compound Grating Covered by Graphene Monolayer

Graphene, a two-dimensional monatomic layer of carbon material, has demonstrated as good candidate for applications ultrafast photodetectors, transistors, transparent electrodes, and biosensors. Recently, many studies have shown that using metallic deep gratings could enhance the absorptance graphene 2.3% up to 80% in near infrared region photon detection. This paper presents utilizing nanograting structure, namely, compound grating greatly 98% widen its spectral bandwidth 0.6 ?m, which are greater than those previous work. The study also showed spectrum is insensitive angles incidence. Furthermore, proposed graphene-covered might bring lot benefits designs-based optical optoelectronic devices.
